Our Joined Success!
The project Strenght2Strenght
originated from 3 determined volunteers who have always been willing to quit
smoking, but never found enough courage to do it individually.
We gathered them all together to set the date when they were going to start their challenge. They all received a great support from their friends and families, but the major hardship for them was to overcome their own obstacles and take back control of their lives and their habits.

Olga, Social smoker for 3 years I started smoking while I was around my smoking friends in parties, at work and even at home where my partner always smoked. Without even realizing it I became a day-to-day smoker. It was really hard to admit to myself that my innocent social habit turned into this nasty addiction. I started to feel that every time I go to the shop, I need to buy a pack of cigarretes in order to feed my lungs with nicotine. That's ridiculous I thought to myself, I can't let this tiny thing control my life! I should start it today and make sure that it will never happen again. I really hope that my husband and I we can both do it together! Visit my SmokeFree Diary here. |
David, Heavy smoker for more than 30 years
After so many years of relationship with a cigarette, it is only my second time when I am trying to give it up. I don't think it is right to say - to give it up, because actually I am not going to give up anything. In contrarily, I am going to gain my freedom, my health and hopefully few more extra years of my life!! I do lots of sports and I try to live a healthy life style, so daily doze of nicotine and a mixture of chemicals is definitely not a healthy option. I would appreaciate very much if my wife would give up smoking with me, and that would encourage me to stay on a right track. I want to believe that by this day next year I will be smoke free man.

Irina, Moderate smoker for 12 years
I never had any problems with smoking before, as far as I remember all my friends smoked and it was a part of our social activities. I was always sure that I could control it and stop it any time I want. But only until now... After a few unsuccessful attempts, I realized that the addiction is much stronger than I thought it was. I always enjoyed a cigarette with my morning coffee and I could never imagine going out for a drinks with my friends and not having a light puff! But this is no longer attractive and not that much entertaining, as it is expensive and very harmful habit. With a time going, I came to the terms that I am growing older, but having a cigarette at least 20 times a day doesn't help me to stay young either. I want to be healthy and fit again; I want to have a healthy family in a near future. I wish all of my friends would follow my example, so that we could enjoy our coffee without a tobacco smell.
